A PRACTICAL HANDMADE PROJECT
Fold a Paper Seed Packet for Dry Storage
A small folded packet can hold fully dry seeds for short-term household organization. Label the original seed identity accurately and keep it separate from food.

WHAT TO GATHER
Your starting kit.
- Clean paper rectangle
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Paper adhesive
STEP 01
Prepare the starting piece
Place a paper rectangle vertically and fold its sides inward with a narrow overlap. Crease gently while leaving enough room for the contents.
STEP 02
Set out the shape
Join the overlapping side seam with a thin line of paper adhesive. Keep the inside clear and let the seam dry completely.
STEP 03
Work the first section
Fold the lower edge upward twice to form a closed base. Secure only the outer fold, taking care not to seal the opening higher up.
STEP 04
Build and adjust
Add a flap at the top and label the packet before filling. Record a known seed name, collection date, and source rather than guessing.
STEP 05
Finish and check
Insert only fully dry seeds and fold the top closed. Store cool and dry, out of reach of children; follow seed supplier storage advice.
Before you begin.
What should I check before beginning?
Place a paper rectangle vertically and fold its sides inward with a narrow overlap. Crease gently while leaving enough room for the contents.
What is the main practical tip for this project?
This packet does not make damp seeds storage-safe and does not establish whether an unknown seed is edible.
