A PRACTICAL HANDMADE PROJECT
Make a Cardboard Coaster Storage Holder
A small holder keeps dry coasters together on a shelf. It is a storage project and is not intended to hold wet or hot items.
Start with your materials ↓
WHAT TO GATHER
Your starting kit.
- Clean small cardboard box
- Coasters
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scissors
STEP 01
Prepare the starting piece
Stack the clean dry coasters and measure their combined width and height. Choose a small box with enough clearance to lift the stack easily.
STEP 02
Set out the shape
Lower the front wall if needed while keeping the base intact. Trim with suitable scissors and smooth the edge where fingers will reach.
STEP 03
Work the first section
Add a folded card divider if you want to separate two sizes. Fit it loosely so it does not press against the coaster edges.
STEP 04
Build and adjust
Place a removable flat paper liner on the bottom. Avoid absorbent layers that could hide moisture from a damp coaster.
STEP 05
Finish and check
Return coasters only when fully dry and cool. Replace the holder if it softens or becomes stained rather than storing damp items inside it.
Before you begin.
What should I check before beginning?
Stack the clean dry coasters and measure their combined width and height. Choose a small box with enough clearance to lift the stack easily.
What is the main practical tip for this project?
A cardboard holder should not be used as a coaster beneath a hot cup.
