A PRACTICAL HANDMADE PROJECT
Make a Cardboard Paper Sorting Rack
A low paper sorting rack can separate small sheets on a desk. Keep it shallow and lightly loaded so reused cardboard stays stable.
Start with your materials ↓
WHAT TO GATHER
Your starting kit.
- Clean cereal-size boxes
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Paper tape
STEP 01
Prepare the starting piece
Choose two or three clean matching boxes and inspect their seams. Measure the sheets you want to store and allow room to remove them.
STEP 02
Set out the shape
Mark low open fronts while preserving each box base and back. Cut carefully with suitable scissors and smooth any rough edges.
STEP 03
Work the first section
Stand the boxes side by side on a level surface. Join their outside walls with paper tape without blocking the interior openings.
STEP 04
Build and adjust
Add flat card bases if the original folds catch paper corners. Label each section with a short practical category.
STEP 05
Finish and check
Load a few sheets per section and check that the rack does not lean. Keep it against a stable back surface away from heat and moisture.
Before you begin.

What is the main practical tip for this project?
This rack suits light paper, not heavy books, electronics, or sharp tools.
